The northernmost province of South Africa, Limpopo, is named after the Limpopo River that flows along the province's northern border. Limpopo (previously the Northern Transvaal) is home to numerous historical and cultural attractions.
The Great North, as Limpopo is called, borders the northern Kruger National Park and is rich in wildlife and spectacular scenery.
The game viewing in the Limpopo Province is phenomenal and possibly the best in the country. Adding to this, the province boasts spectacular mountain scenery, much to hikers, climbers and bikers delight, while mystic cultural destinations intrigue both local and international tourists.
